CRACK UP

BWQ, 2019

Cover art & Disc Illustration: Chi Flo
Doodles: Darryl Joo

I was tasked with creating the identity and packaging for Crack Up, a six-song EP from the Hudson County experimental rock four-piece BWQ, released in 2019.

According to frontman Darryl Joo, BWQ is “roughly put, the spirit of building bridges and genuine connections.” I was inspired by telephone poles, radio towers, and suspension bridges to create an interconnected wordmark that had to be perfectly symmetrical in order to fit with the black-and-white motif of Chi Flo’s cover art.
